www.VickyFoxcroft.com Down! Unite defeated by the Power of NyanCat!

The Witchfinder has a silly season story.

It has not been a good few weeks for Vicky Foxcroft. The former Labour Student hack turned Unite hack was undoubtedly delighted to be selected for Lewisham Deptford but joy at her victory was far from universally shared. The ‘local’ candidate turned out to be none other than this Vicky Foxcroft – once hailed as the ‘power-dressed future’ of new Labour – a woman who has, if her linkedin page is to be believed, never worked outside a trade union or political environment since university.

That cheerful young woman who once seemed so sweet and kind to the Witchfinder in his heady university days, when we were both in Labour Students (there was a time before the Witchfinder saw the light) is long gone. Vicky has grown into a woman who bears an eerie physical resemblance to Harriet Harman even as her human spirit seems to have withered. It was in a whimsical, nostalgic spirit that the Witchfinder chose to view her appalling selection campaign website through nyanit.com . It is essential to do this with the sound on. For those of you who do not know, NYANIT is a simple ‘wrapper’ site – a bit like a web proxy it allows you to load any website with a special script that adds a magic ingredient. NYAN CAT!!!

The popular internet meme features a magical flying-space cat with the head, legs and tail of a feline and the body of a Kellogs Pop-Tart set to a happy Japanese song, leaving a trail of rainbows behind it. As Conservative Home report, Vicky takes a number of extremist left-wing positions. However in the face of Nyan Cat even her off-beat political views start to seem plausible.

The Witchfinder should stress here that in no way does Nyanit unlawfully interfere with the original site – it is simple a frame with which it can be viewed – in this case far more pleasingly.

www.VickyFoxcroft.com is down, showing only an admin login page. A victorious cloud of Nyancats hover overhead.

The Witchfinder whimsically shared the link to the nyanified website on twitter – a link which soon became a craze. From IT Developers to politicians, even to members of online activist group Anonymous, thousands of people viewed the Labour propaganda site through the childlike eyes of Nyancat. Yesterday the Witchfinder noticed that www.vickyfoxcroft.com was down. Foxcroft, when asked, ignored queries as to why.

There are many reasons the site might be down – perhaps it was simply only kept for as

Nyancat, hero of the Conservative Party.

Nyancat is a Conservative Hero!

long as the selection campaign, perhaps it became an embarrassment after the recent media attacks on Ms Foxcroft. The Witchfinder likes to think that the happy, joyous Nyancats awoke a spark of the young woman that was and spurred within her withered soul a sliver of shame or conscience, and that just this once the power of Nyancat was victorious.
